The Positivitype is a virtual gallery where I feature my type and lettering work in a virtual reality environment. The goal is for users to have fun in a fully interactive and immersive experience.
This project was created for my Type Design class using knowledge acquired in my Virtual Reality class at the Academy of Art University. I love designing typefaces, lettering, and creating mixed media concepts. For those reasons, I’ve combined all these ideas to create Contento a Friendly Typeface and showcase it in The Positivitype gallery.
Inspired by exploring words with a positive connotation in different languages, I decided to name my typeface Contento which means in Spanish happy, satisfied, fulfilled, and contented. The purpose is to show people that no matter what language you speak, a word can generate different feelings in a person according to the form that is presented or the way it is said.
